Event at a glance
The Connecticut River Challenge is a paddling fundraiser hosted by Venture Crew 261 of Suffield, Connecticut. Paddlers travel the Connecticut River from Kings Island in Enfield to Harbor Park in Middletown across three challenge distances — roughly 10, 20, and 35 miles — raising funds for youth outdoor leadership programs. The inaugural event is set for Saturday, August 14, 2027 (rain date Sunday, August 15) and closes with a community BBQ at the Glastonbury Boat Launch in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
